- Born on this date in 1913 was Austrian actress Hedy Lamarr. Though known primarily for her acting, she also co-invented an early form of spread spectrum communications technology, a key to modern wireless communication. She said, "Any girl can be glamorous. All you have to do is stand still and look stupid."
- In 1999, a Mexican prison officer fell to his death through a skylight, a porn magazine and a pair of binoculars in hand, while “supervising” an inmate’s conjugal visit.
- In 1961, The Metropolitan Museum in New York obtained Rembrandt's Aristotle Contemplating the Bust of Homer for $2.3 million.
- In 2011, Dutch scientists built a nanoscopic electric car made of a single complex molecule. The world's smallest vehicle, the nanocar is capable of travelling small distances when an electric current is applied to it.
- In 1906, US President Theodore Roosevelt left Washington DC for a 17 day trip to Panama and Puerto Rico, becoming the first president to make an official visit outside of the US.
- In 1966, John Lennon met his future second wife, Yoko Ono, at London's Indica Art Gallery, where her exhibition was being previewed.
- In 1888, Jack the Ripper's fifth and last known victim, Mary Jane Kelly, was found in her room in Whitechapel.
- In 1965, the great Northeast blackout occurred. Several states and parts of Canada were hit by a series of power failures lasting up to 13½ hours; the largest power failure in US history. The failure happened at the height of rush hour and 800,000 people were trapped in the New York Subway, lifts and skyscrapers. Power was not restored until the next morning.
- In 1985, Gary Kasparov, 22, became the youngest world Chess champion, ending the 10 year reign of Anatoly Karpov in Moscow.
- In 2006 Steve Camp rolled down a hill in a Zorb for 570 meters, giving him the record for the longest Zorb Ball roll ever.

A Superhero love story.
Sent away to school to get her away from undesirable company, Agnes finds herself homesick and lonely. A brief connection with Jason Warner leads to the teenage crush to end all teenage crushes. Jason is barely aware Agnes exists, but she plans her whole future around him.

is only when they meet again as adults that the connection becomes
mutual; but before it can develop, Jason makes a discovery which
rocks his entire world. He needs time alone, away from everyone,
including Agnes. When Jason is finally ready to go back to his old
life, Agnes has moved on and he cannot find her.
Agnes is now a single parent to the remarkable Seraphina. The Power League want to harness Seraphina's powers for evil before the Freedom League become aware of her. Agnes has no idea her new colleague and friend is a supervillain with his own agenda, and his willingness to babysit is not as innocent as she thinks. As Incendio starts teaching Seraphina to use her powers, the Freedom League intervene. Little do they know that they have found one of their own.
