- In 1988, Ugandan rain-maker Festo Kazarwa was beaten to death by villagers whose crops and homes had been destroyed by hailstones.
- Johann Georg Lehner invented the Hot dog on this date in 1805.
- In 1895, the first shipment of canned Pineapple arrived in the US from Hawaii.
- The law requiring a man with a Red flag to walk in front of a moving car was repealed on this date in 1896.
- In 1989, scientists observed the most violent outburst by a quasar. In two minutes its energy output increased by an amount equal to the total energy released by the Sun in 340,000 years.
- The brassiere was patented on this date in 1914. Mrs. Mary Phelps Jacob, known as Caresse Crosby had been changing for a dance in 1913, when she felt her corset would be too constricting. Mrs. Jacob asked her French maid to join two pocket handkerchiefs with some pink ribbon. Thus the prototype for the 'Bra' was constructed. Mary Jacob made brassieres for her friends and was finally persuaded to patent her invention on this date.
- In 1990, Patricia Boughton filed a lawsuit against Rod Stewart claiming that a football he'd kicked into the crowd during a concert had ruptured a tendon in her middle finger. The injury had made sex between her and her husband difficult. Make of that what you will.
- In 1989, a Tasmanian man was taken to a psychiatric hospital after attacking a Gorilla in its cage at Melbourne Zoo.
- In 1995, Quian Linping and Ni Junfang, two 23 year old Chinese girls, broke a world record by living for 12 days in a room with 888 Snakes, 666 of which were cobras.

A Superhero love story.
Sent away to school to get her away from undesirable company, Agnes finds herself homesick and lonely. A brief connection with Jason Warner leads to the teenage crush to end all teenage crushes. Jason is barely aware Agnes exists, but she plans her whole future around him.
It is only when they meet again as adults that the connection becomes mutual; but before it can develop, Jason makes a discovery which rocks his entire world. He needs time alone, away from everyone, including Agnes. When Jason is finally ready to go back to his old life, Agnes has moved on and he cannot find her.
Agnes is now a single parent to the remarkable Seraphina. The Power League want to harness Seraphina's powers for evil before the Freedom League become aware of her. Agnes has no idea her new colleague and friend is a supervillain with his own agenda, and his willingness to babysit is not as innocent as she thinks. As Incendio starts teaching Seraphina to use her powers, the Freedom League intervene. Little do they know that they have found one of their own.
