10 weird and wonderful things which happened on 11 November:

  1. June Whitfield, comic actress, known for roles in radio and television comedy series, including Take It From Here, Beggar My Neighbour, Happy Ever After, Terry and June, Absolutely Fabulous and Last of the Summer Wine, was born on this date in 1925.
  2. In 1971, 15 Japanese scientists died in a landslide. In an attempt to study this particular natural phenomenon, they'd soaked a 60 foot hill near Kawasaki with Water to see what would happen in a torrential downpour, and then studied it a little too closely....
  3. Two days after sighting land, the Mayflower anchored in what is today Provincetown Harbor in Cape Cod, Massachusetts on this date in 1620. The same day, the Mayflower Compact was crafted and signed by the 41 male pilgrims on the ship, combining themselves "into a civil body politic." The Compact comprised the first written American constitution, which remained in force until 1691.
  4. World War I ended on this date in 1918 when the Allies and Germany signed an armistice agreement. The armistice was signed at 11 minutes past 11 o'clock on the 11th day of the 11th month in a railway carriage in the forest of Compiegne.
  5. In 1992, the Church of England voted to allow women to become priests. The resolution passed by just two votes.
  6. In 1963, The Beatles escaped from a crowd of screaming fans in Birmingham by disguising themselves as policemen.
  7. In 1790, Chrysanthemums were introduced into England from China.
  8. In 1911, for a moment, it was 11:11:11 on 11-11-11
  9. In 1986, Duke, a 3 year old German shepherd, scaled an 11ft 9in wall on the Record Breakers TV programme.
  10. In 1996, the Scottish Council on Alcohol described a 2% rise in counselling sessions for people with drink problems as “a staggering increase”.

A Superhero love story.

Sent away to school to get her away from undesirable company, Agnes finds herself homesick and lonely. A brief connection with Jason Warner leads to the teenage crush to end all teenage crushes. Jason is barely aware Agnes exists, but she plans her whole future around him.

It is only when they meet again as adults that the connection becomes mutual; but before it can develop, Jason makes a discovery which rocks his entire world. He needs time alone, away from everyone, including Agnes. When Jason is finally ready to go back to his old life, Agnes has moved on and he cannot find her.

Agnes is now a single parent to the remarkable Seraphina. The Power League want to harness Seraphina's powers for evil before the Freedom League become aware of her. Agnes has no idea her new colleague and friend is a supervillain with his own agenda, and his willingness to babysit is not as innocent as she thinks. As Incendio starts teaching Seraphina to use her powers, the Freedom League intervene. Little do they know that they have found one of their own.
