Today is the 127th day of the year. Here are some things you might not know about the number 127.

1. 127 is the atomic number of Unbiseptium, a hypothetical element that has not yet been discovered.
2. Sonnet 127 of Shakespeare's sonnets is the first of the Dark Lady sequence, so called because the poems make it clear the writer's lover has black hair and eyes and dark skin.
3. 127 Hours is a film released in 2010, co-written, produced and directed by Danny Boyle. It stars James Franco, Kate Mara, Amber Tamblyn and Clémence Poésy. It's based on a true story in which canyoneer Aron Ralston gets trapped by a boulder in an isolated canyon in Utah, in April 2003. He must take drastic action in order to escape with his life.
4. The biblical figure Sarah died at the age of 127.
5. U.S. Route 127 is a 758 mile/1,220 km road running north–south in the eastern half of the USA. The southern end is in Chattanooga, Tennessee. The northern end is near Grayling, Michigan. Since 1987, the annual World's Longest Yard Sale, also known as the Highway 127 Corridor Sale or 127 Yard Sale, which stretches 690 miles/1,110 km from Addison, Michigan, to Gadsden, Alabama. The sale, held every August, was started to demonstrate that the older U.S. Highway System has something to offer that the Interstate Highway System does not.
6. 127 is a roll film format for still photography introduced by Kodak in 1912.
7. Asteroid 127 is a Main belt asteroid named Johanna after Joan of Arc. It was discovered by French astronomers Paul Henry and Prosper Henry on 5 November 1872.
8. The Fiat 127 is a supermini car produced by Italian car manufacturer FIAT from 1971 to 1983, when it was replaced by the Fiat Uno.
9. 127th Street Ensemble was a troupe of African-American actors which included Tupac Amaru Shakur.
10. In numerology, 127 is an independent explorer. Those affected by it are comfortable alone and making their own decisions without input from others. It would be a person who could lead others into unexplored places or great achievements. However, if need be, 127s can work in a team and maintain good personal relationships.
