Sebastian Garrett, former Viper Assassin, son of Rupert Garrett, a prominent Viper agent. Sebastian was groomed to follow in his father’s footsteps from a young age. Sebastian is also a genetic variant with an immunity to lightning and the ability to astral travel (the latter is only triggered by a desire to be with or help someone he loves). While becoming an assassin wasn’t his first choice of career, his degree grades weren’t good enough for him to follow another path. He became good at it, but would only kill people he believed to be evil (terrorists, child traffickers and the like) until his gambling debts got out of control and killing Princess Helena of Galorvia was a high paying job. Helena persuaded him to fake her death, but Sebastian realised he could never let her go, as his deception would then come to light. He bought a villa to keep her hostage in comfort. At first, Helena did her best to try to escape and their relationship was difficult. Sebastian was arrested for Helena’s murder and was to be executed by her mother, Queen Jade. Her first attempt was to zap him to death, but his immunity saved him. In the mean time, Helena’s brother and cousins had gone to the villa and freed Helena. In due course, Jade realised Sebastian cared deeply for Helena and made him her bodyguard. Although this angered Helena at first, the pair eventually fell in love. When another assassin was dispatched to kill Helena, Sebastian astral travelled to warn her. Their story is told in Killing Me Softly.

Sebastian Garrett is an assassin. It wasn’t his first choice of vocation, but nonetheless, he’s good at it, and can be relied upon to get the job done. He’s on top of his game.
