10 weird and wonderful things which happened on 7 December:

  1. Actor Will Lee died of a heart attack on this date in 1982 at the age of 74. He is best remembered for playing store proprietor Mr. Hooper on Sesame Street. The producers of Sesame Street decided to kill off the character of Mr. Hooper as well, and use the episode to teach its young viewers about death and that it is OK to grieve when someone they love dies. Episode 1839, Farewell, Mr. Hooper, was selected by the Daytime Emmys as one of the 10 most influential moments in daytime television.
  2. In 1963, James Carroll, a disc jockey at WWDC in Washington, DC, became the first person to broadcast a Beatles record on US radio: I Wanna Hold Your Hand.
  3. William Pitt the Younger, 24, became the youngest British Prime Minister on this date in 1783.
  4. The household refrigerator, operating on gas, was patented by The Electrolux Servel on this date in 1926.
  5. In 2006, a Tornado struck Kensal Green, North West London, seriously damaging around 150 properties.
  6. In 1907, Eugene Corri became the first referee to officiate inside a boxing ring at the Tommy Burns v. Gunner Moir fight at the National Sporting Club, London.
  7. In 1995, John Pitney, a postman in Denver, showed up at work wearing a dress, and was placed on administrative leave. He went home, but returned later in the same dress with the addition of a strap-on dildo and a gorilla mask. This time, he was arrested.
  8. In 1703, a violent storm hit Britain. It killed 8,000 sailors at sea and 123 people inland, including the Bishop of Bath and Wells in his bed. It uprooted over 17,000 trees, destroyed 400 windmills and damaged church spires. It also destroyed the Eddystone Lighthouse. Queen Anne, believing the storm to be a sign of the wrath of God, ordered a public fast.
  9. In 1918, one Lt Larkin of the RAF heard his room-mate David McConnell, greet him, having returned unexpectedly early from a flying mission. He said he'd had a good trip and then left. Larkin later learned that McConnell had died in a crash 60 miles away at the same time he'd spoken with him.
  10. In 1968, M Dodd returned a library book to the University of Cincinatti. His great grandfather had taken it out in 1823. The $22,646 fine was waived.

A Superhero love story.

Sent away to school to get her away from undesirable company, Agnes finds herself homesick and lonely. A brief connection with Jason Warner leads to the teenage crush to end all teenage crushes. Jason is barely aware Agnes exists, but she plans her whole future around him.

It is only when they meet again as adults that the connection becomes mutual; but before it can develop, Jason makes a discovery which rocks his entire world. He needs time alone, away from everyone, including Agnes. When Jason is finally ready to go back to his old life, Agnes has moved on and he cannot find her.

Agnes is now a single parent to the remarkable Seraphina. The Power League want to harness Seraphina's powers for evil before the Freedom League become aware of her. Agnes has no idea her new colleague and friend is a supervillain with his own agenda, and his willingness to babysit is not as innocent as she thinks. As Incendio starts teaching Seraphina to use her powers, the Freedom League intervene. Little do they know that they have found one of their own.
