14 October: ee cummings

This date in 1894 saw the birth of e e (Edward Estlin) cummings, US poet and painter, famous for never using capital letters. Here are some quotes with capital letters added where I think they should be!

  1. It takes courage to grow up and become who you really are.
  2. The most wasted of all days is one without laughter.
  3. Once we believe in ourselves, we can risk curiosity, wonder, spontaneous delight, or any experience that reveals the human spirit.
  4. To destroy is always the first step in any creation.
  5. The hardest challenge is to be yourself in a world where everyone is trying to make you be somebody else.
  6. I'd rather learn from one bird how to sing than to teach ten thousand stars how not to dance.
  7. The first step to expanding your reality is to discard the tendency to exclude things from possibility.
  8. I'd rather have two good friends, than 500,000 admirers.
  9. Unless you love someone, nothing else makes any sense.
  10. It may take two people to make a really beautiful mistake.
