Today is Golfer's
Day, also referred to as Golf Day. There are a few golf related events which took place on April 10th - but I couldn't find ten of them.
1916 The first professional golf tournament was held in New York. It was won by
British golfer Jim Barnes.
1924
Tubular steel golf club shafts were approved for championship play.
1961
Gary Player of South Africa became the first non-American golfer to
win the Masters Golf Tournament in Augusta, Georgia. He won by just
one stroke over both Charles Coe, an amateur, and the defending champion
Arnold Palmer.
1989
Nick Faldo became the first Englishman to win the US Masters in a
dramatic sudden death play-off.
2016
Danny Willett of England won the 2016 Masters Tournament at the
Augusta National Golf Club.
That's only five, but I did find ten quotes about golf:

- It’s like learning to play golf. Just when you think you’ve cracked it, they move the goalposts. Adrian Love

- Golf is a day spent in a round of strenuous idleness. William Wordsworth
- Golf is deceptively simple and endlessly complicated; it satisfies the soul and frustrates the intellect. It is at the same time rewarding and maddening - and it is without a doubt the greatest game mankind has ever invented. Arnold Palmer
- Golf is a good walk spoiled. Mark Twain
- Golf is a game in which one endeavours to control a ball with implements ill adapted for the purpose. Woodrow Wilson
- It is almost impossible to remember how tragic a place the world is when one is playing golf. Robert Wilson Lynd
