10 things you might not know about Happy Hour:
- Today is Happy Hour Day, say many websites; because, they say, the first happy hour took place on this date in 1745, at a pub in Ireland. However, none of them say which pub it was or any more information than that.
- Happy hours connected to alcohol started during the prohibition. People couldn't get a drink with their meal in a restaurant, so they'd go to a speakeasy for a few cocktails before dinner.
