Today is a Bonza Bottler Day. Here's everything you need to know about Bonza Bottler Days:
- What is it? When the number of the month (in this case March) is the same as the date (3rd). The next one will be on April 4.
- If the number of the year also coincides then it is a Bodacious Bonza Bottler Day. 5th May 2015 will be the next of these.
- Bonza Bottler Days were invented in 1985 by Elaine Fremont who thought that there should be some excuse to celebrate every month.
- She held a competition to name the holiday and the winner was a student from Australia.
- Bonza (or Bonzer) is derived from "Bonanza" and Bottler is Australian slang for "something excellent).
- The first Bonza Bottler Day celebration was August 8, 1985.
- Elaine Fremont sadly died in a car accident in 1995 at the age of 43, but her sister, Gail Berger, carries on the tradition.
- The best way to celebrate is to have a party, but if that's not possible, at least wish people a "Happy Bonza Bottler Day".
- Bonza Bottler Days even have their own mascot. It's a dancing Groundhog (because Groundhog Day, February 2nd, is a Bonza Bottler Day).
- People born on Bonza Bottler Days are known as Bonzer Bottler Babies.
