Lord Byron

  1. On this date in 1995 two psychics, Elizabeth Rose and Jenny Lee predicted a blizzard on January 19th and cancelled their pub act scheduled for that day. Cancelled due to foreseen circumstances, no doubt the announcement read.
  2. In 2001, in Alexandria Egypt, Waheeb Hamouda was on a roof feeding a Sheep intended for sacrificial slaughter. The sheep must have guessed what was going on because it butted him off the roof, killing him.
  3. In 1961 Mr. Ed, the talking Horse made his television début. The human stars of the show were Alan Young as Ed’s owner, Wilbur Post, Connie Hines as Wilbur’s wife Carol and Roger Addison as their neighbour, Larry Keating.
  4. In 1821 Lord Byron wrote in his diary about Sir Walter Scott: "Wonderful man! I long to get drunk with him."
  5. On 5 January 1914 Henry Ford announced that Ford Motor Company employees would receive a minimum wage of $5 a day, provided they were “of good personal habits”. A company department was set up to determine if individual workers deserved it.
  6. In 2005 Eris, the largest known dwarf planet in the solar system, was discovered.
  7. Allied officers escaped from Colditz, the supposedly escape-proof castle the Germans used for top-security prisoners, on this date in 1942.
  8. In 1976 French Prime Minister Giscard d'Estaing made a law making French the only language allowed in advertising in France.
  9. On this date in 1837, South Australia’s first police officer, William Williams, took up duties on Kangaroo Island for a salary of £30 a year.
  10. In 2015 A Czech archaeological team discovered the tomb of a formerly unknown Ancient Egyptian queen, Khentakawess III, who lived during the Fifth Dynasty.

The Power of Love

Willow believes in crystal healing, cosmic  ordering  and the significance of chance  encounters. She believes there's a spiritual  explanation for everything. Except she struggles to find a reason why she can turn herself into  mist and create a wave of energy which can slam a would-be mugger into a wall. A chance encounter with Firebolt, leader of the Freedom League superhero team, in a Glastonbury coffee shop, does turn out to be significant. He offers her a new start and the chance to use her powers for good.

Servant is a Christian who has joined the Freedom League in order to use his teleporting power to serve God. He and Willow clash from the start, yet they are drawn inexorably to one another.

When Willow leaves the team abruptly for reasons unknown, Servant knows he must put her out of his mind and find a nice Christian girl to settle down with. He is about to propose to devout and straight-laced Ruth, when Willow returns and turns his entire world upside down.
