8th July: Marianne Williamson

Marianne Williamson, spiritual activist and author, whose books include the Age of Miracles, was born on this date in 1952. Here are some quotes from her work.The first one has often been misattributed to other people such as Nelson Mandela, but it was Marianne Williamson who said or wrote it first!

1. Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our Light, not our Darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, 'Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?' Actually, who are you not to be?
2. Love is what we were born with. Fear is what we learned here.
3. In every community, there is work to be done. In every nation, there are wounds to heal. In every heart, there is the power to do it.
4. When an idea reaches critical mass there is no stopping the shift its presence will induce.
5. The key to abundance is meeting limited circumstances with unlimited thoughts.
6. The spiritual path - is simply the journey of living our lives. Everyone is on a spiritual path; most people just don't know it.
7. God exists in eternity. The only point where eternity meets time is in the present. The present is the only time there is.
